Career

Since 2008 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to the Federal Republic of Germany
2004 Undersecretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia. Responsible for external economic issues (including trade policy, OECD and climate issues) and development co-operation. October 2006-August 2007 also responsible for political affairs. In 2008 first head of the Estonian delegation negotiating OECD accession.
Concurrently (2004-2009) non-resident ambassador to Serbia (initially to Serbia and Montenegro), National Co-ordinator for the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe
2003-2004 Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director-General of the Minister’s Office
1999-2003 Ambassador to the Republic of Austria. Resident representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency, permanent representative to the United Nations Office at Vienna and to the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (2000-2003). Non-resident ambassador to the Slovak Republic, the Republic of Slovenia, the Swiss Confederation (2000-2003), the Republic of Hungary (1999-2001) and the Czech Republic (1999-2002).
